Das sind Ihre Aufgaben

As a Digitalization Engineer – R&D Lab (m/f/d), you will play a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation of our research and development laboratories. You will lead the implementation of IT infrastructure, data integration, and lab automation systems that form the foundation for high-quality simulation models and digital product twins. This position offers the opportunity to work at the interface of laboratory operations, IT, and external partners, contributing to cutting-edge projects such as multi-million-euro lab automation initiatives and the development of solvent-free polymerization labs. If you are passionate about digitalizing technical environments and enabling data-driven innovation, this role will put you at the center of our strategic R&D evolution.

Your tasks include:

  • Support key strategic R&D initiatives and investments, including lab automation projects, the establishment of a solvent-free polymerization lab, and further digitalization of corporate testing and analytical laboratories.

  • Design and implement IT infrastructure to integrate laboratory instruments and automation lines into the corporate IT network, enabling automated data collection (e.g., from rheometers, GCs, peel adhesion, and static shear test instruments) into systems such as LIMS and Snowflake.

  • Serve as a central interface between laboratories, Digital IT, and external vendors to define requirements and manage implementation within agreed timelines, budgets, and scope.

  • Deliver digitally captured analytics and testing data in line with FAIR data principles as a foundation for simulation models and digital product twins.
