Das sind Ihre Aufgaben

Drive business growth and innovation for tesa in China by identifying, validating, and incubating new technology-driven opportunities in functional tapes for semiconductor manufacturing and electronics. Focus on advanced applications such as thermally conductive tapes, heat management, optical active tapes, and meta-material adhesives. Build a strong network with universities, startups, and innovation partners to accelerate market entry and establish tesa as a leader in high-tech adhesive solutions.                

The position is to be filled at our tesa Suzhou site


Responsibilities

Technology & Market Exploration (0–6 months)

  • Scout and evaluate early-stage technologies and trends in functional tapes for semiconductors and electronics, with an emphasis on heat management and optical properties.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify commercial opportunities.
  • Develop and validate business cases through rapid prototyping and experimentation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with universities, research institutes, and startups to access cutting-edge technologies.
  • Represent tesa in open innovation networks and industry forums.


Incubation & Business Model Validation (6–18 months)

  • Co-develop minimum viable products (MVPs) with R&D and external partners.
  • Engage pilot customers to validate applications and refine value propositions.
  • Define go-to-market strategies, test pricing models, and explore commercialization pathways.
  • Secure strategic collaborations with early adopters and technology partners.
  • Lead early-stage business development to ensure scalable growth.

 

Scaling & Business Growth (18+ months)

  • Develop and execute scaling strategies for validated innovations.
  • Build a sustainable ecosystem of partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Secure investments to accelerate commercialization.
  • Integrate new business opportunities into tesa’s core portfolio or spin off new ventures.
  • Establish operational structures to support long-term growth.

Das ist Ihr Profil

  • PhD in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in business development, technology commercialization, or corporate innovation—preferably in high-tech or deep tech sectors.
  • Willingness to relocate to Suzhou, China is required.
  • Strong local network with universities, startups, and innovation partners in Shanghai or Suzhou.
  • Proven ability to drive open innovation and build strategic partnerships.
  • Technical expertise in polymer-based materials, adhesives, and functional tapes for electronics or semiconductors.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a business-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in English; Mandarin proficiency is a must.
