Purpose of the Role
As a Senior Project Procurement Manager for chemical raw materials, you will represent Procurement as a core member of cross-functional innovation and development teams. You will drive the strategic sourcing of highly specialized chemical raw materials in a high-tech, IP-sensitive environment—supporting new product development from early ideation to industrialization. Your work ensures long-term, cost-efficient, and compliant material supply while enabling innovation and competitive advantage.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Act as a strategic procurement partner for R&D and Business Units, aligning sourcing with innovation roadmaps.
  • Identify and qualify novel materials and suppliers to meet mid- to long-term innovation needs (2–10 years to market).
  • Lead global technology scouting through supplier networks, industry fairs, and digital platforms.
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with global category strategy and internal governance.
  • Ensure early procurement involvement in project planning and execution, including kick-off and negotiation strategy.
  • Mitigate supply and IP risks through smart contract design and supplier diversification.
    Lead complex contract negotiations, especially in niche or monopolistic technology segments.
  • Establish long-term collaboration frameworks (e.g., Supply Agreements, development agreements).
  • Drive supplier qualification processes in line with ISO, Ecovadis, and tesa’s Code of Conduct.
  • Support feasibility studies and cross-functional knowledge transfer.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including patent alignment and documentation for funded projects.

Das ist Ihr Profil

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Procurement, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in strategic procurement, ideally in raw materials or the chemical industry.
  • Proven success in managing suppliers in innovation-driven, IP-sensitive contexts.
  • Strong negotiation skills with niche or monopolistic suppliers under high-risk conditions.
  • Expertise in contract design for risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with SAP and digital procurement tools.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English; German or other languages are a plus.
