Your Tasks

As part of our strategic initiative to build a professional automation and robotics organization at tesa, we are hiring a Business Development Enginner for Cognitive Robotics Solutions to support the development and scaling of projects within our Smart Manufacturing business hub. This role is critical in laying the foundation for future growth, protecting intellectual property, and driving cost-effective innovation in tape automation systems.  

Responsibilities  

  • Drive the realization of industrial products and prototypes of cutting-edge (cognitive) robotic tape application solutions that fit both the automation needs of our customers as well as the overall Smart Manufacturing strategy.
  • Lead complex projects consisting of internal and external parties, including direct customer interaction in a fast paced, agile fashion
  • Realize user-friendly, highly flexible solutions for our customers to fit their automation need and realizing strategic and commercial aspects of tesa
  • Act as the key coordinator between internal teams, industrial customers, and mechanical engineering partners during critical development phases. 
  • Benchmark technologies and competitors to identify innovation opportunities and provide input to product, technology, and marketing teams.
  • Travel up to 50% to customer sites, partner facilities, and internal locations.

Your Profile

  • “Get things done”-mentality, High interest in technical applications and a collabo-rative team player
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
  • Understanding of automation technologies, machine learning, and natural language processing as applied to robotics
  • 5+ years of experience in product development, prototyping, or technical project management.
  • Fluent in English; Knowledge of German language is a plus
  • Strong communication and networking skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Confident presenter and negotiator, adaptable to change, and results-driven.
