Your Tasks

As the Project Lead for Battery Technology Development, you will spearhead the planning, execution, and optimization of advanced lithium-ion battery testing and validation activities. You will define and implement standardized testing procedures, lead the setup and operation of the battery laboratory, and ensure high-quality data analysis to support strategic project goals. This role requires close collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and suppliers to drive innovation and deliver actionable insights that accelerate battery technology advancement.


  • Lead the definition, alignment, and execution of Design of Experiments (DOE) for electrochemical screening and iterative learning cycles.
  • Trains technicians and coordinates their measurements, while also conducting measurements personally during the lab ramp-up. Responsible for analyzing test data and reporting key insights in agile project management reviews.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for battery electrochemical testing in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Specify and manage requirements for battery testing equipment and instrumentation; support procurement processes including specifications and RFQs.
  • Oversee the establishment and operational readiness of the battery laboratory, ensuring compliance with project and safety standards.
  • Analyze, interpret, and package test data into clear, actionable reports for project owners and leadership.
  • Coordinate external battery testing activities with third-party laboratories and partners to ensure seamless integration and data quality.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and maintain effective communication with project teams, suppliers, and executive leadership.
  • Occasionally travel to partner sites to support project alignment and collaboration.

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • • Over 8 years of experience in battery technology development, including academic research such as PhD studies
  •  • Proven track record of publications and/or patents in the field
  • More than 3 years of experience in R&D for a battery cell or material manufacturer, leading technology development projects
  • Proven experience in battery testing, validation, and laboratory setup, preferably within lithium-ion or advanced battery technologies.
  • Strong expertise in Design of Experiments (DOE), data analysis, and electrochemical testing methodologies.
  • Experience supporting procurement processes for technical equipment and managing supplier relationships.
  • Experience in establishing and managing battery laboratories.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and external partners effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
