Your Tasks
Would you like to study while gaining valuable professional experience? Are you eager to work in a dynamic and innovative environment? Then apply now for the dual Master's degree program in "Materials Science & Engineering" (M.Sc.) at tesa SE in Norderstedt, near Hamburg.
The dual study program starts on September 1, 2025, lasts 2 years, and is offered in cooperation with TU Hamburg (TUHH). The academic portion provides you with the theoretical foundations, which you can immediately apply in practice during your work phases at tesa.
During the practical phases (8–12 weeks per semester), you will support the Simulation and Material Modeling team at tesa. You will contribute to the development of our adhesive technologies using modern numerical methods.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the development and validation of simulation models for adhesives and adhesive applications
- Contributing to the adaptation and extension of existing material models and simulation methods
- Analyzing material and component behavior using the Finite Element Method (FEM) and preparing experimental data for model calibration
- Applying your expertise to use mathematical optimization or AI methods in the context of material modeling
- Actively participating in current research and development projects and contributing to innovative solutions
Your Profile
You are motivated, committed, and meet the following requirements...
- You have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree or are about to graduate in a relevant field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science) and meet the subject-specific requirements for the Master's program Materials Science & Engineering at TUHH
- You work independently and in a structured manner and have strong analytical thinking skills
- You enjoy tackling complex problems, show initiative, and contribute creative ideas to technical concepts
- You have a solid understanding of physics and mathematics as well as initial programming experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
- Ideally, you already have some experience with FEM or simulation software (e.g., Abaqus)
... then we look forward to receiving your application!
Please note that we can only accept current TUHH students, as this is an international degree programme and the application deadline for this year has already passed.
