Your Tasks

As Teamlead Shared Services – General Ledger (m/f/d), you will take ownership of the daily operations of tesa’s General Ledger team within our internal Shared Services Center. You will lead a team delivering high-quality accounting services for the German headquarters and European entities, collaborating closely with local controlling and accounting teams.

In this role, you will oversee GL postings, reconciliations, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings, ensuring compliance with IFRS, HGB, and internal controls (RCM). You will combine operational execution, people leadership, and continuous improvement, driving efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration while supporting global finance initiatives and audits.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of GL accountants, fostering engagement and professional growth.

  • Drive end-to-end GL operations, including postings, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and fixed asset accounting.

  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings in line with global policies.

  • Maintain compliance with IFRS, HGB, tax regulations, and internal controls (RCM).

  • Partner with auditors, Group Accounting, Controlling, and other stakeholders.

  • Identify process improvements and leverage automation tools (S/4HANA, Fiori, AI).

Your Profile

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA/ACCA/Bilanzbuchhalter preferred.

  • 7–10 years of accounting experience, including GL/Record-to-Report, with leadership experience.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, German GAAP (HGB), and SAP FI/CO; experience with consolidation tools is a plus.

  • Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and manage cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Analytical, process-oriented, and fluent in English and German.
